If you don’t think your family have many healthy habits then you may find this frustrating. You may want to get everyone on the right path, but at the same time, this can be difficult when you have so many different personalities to balance. If you want to do something about this then simply look below.
Exercise
You will never fully eliminate screen time for your kids. If you try then they will probably grow to resent the positive changes you are trying to make. One thing you can do to work around this would be for you to create a bit of friendly competition. It may be that you try to see who can do the most jumping jacks during the adverts or that you see who can hold a plank for the longest. The person who does can then choose what movie goes on next. Play is very good for the general health of your family, so try and keep this in mind if you can. It’ll make a huge difference to your family. Want to take things to the next level? Why not take your kids to swim lessons?
Forgive
Being physically healthy is great, but you also need to make sure that your family are mentally healthy as well. You need to teach your kids how to understand their emotions and you also need to give them someone positive to model their behaviour around. Ask for forgiveness if you have made a mistake and teach your kids to let go of bitterness or grudges. If you can do this, then you will soon find that it is easier than ever for you to get the result you’re looking for.
Manage Portions
One way for you to encourage your family to be healthy would be for you to offer fruit and vegetables with every single meal that you cook. Do not force your kids to eat them if they don’t want to, but always make sure that the option is available. Again, it’s important for you to model healthy eating here because your kids are watching you all the time.
Be Proactive
It’s imperative that you are proactive when it comes to the growth of your child. You need to help them with social development, behaviour and even sleep. Taking them to their doctor appointments and annual health checks is so important as well. If you can do this, then you will soon find that it is easier for you to support their development.
Get some Sleep
Sleep is an imperative part of your child’s schedule. If possible, you need to give them a consistent routine that helps them to wind down, and you also need to cut out screen time right before bed too. If you can do this, then you will be able to support much healthier habits. Remember that kids tend to wind up when they’re sleep-deprived, and you need to watch out for their cues where possible. It’ll help you out far more than you realise.
